    Procurement has evolved from a job that practitioners fell into to a profession. With that evolution language has become increasingly important. We can no longer afford to refer to everything as a ‘bid.’ This practice focuses on the Invitation for Bids (IFB) procurement method, language for the solicitation that is issued and the offer that is submitted in response, and criteria and guidance for the successful use of an IFB.


    After completing this online training session, learners will be able to:
    1. Determine when to use an IFB/ITT
    2. Distinguish between responsive and responsible
    3. Successfully develop and implement an IFB

    Presenter Bios

    Stacy Gregg is a Procurement Manager with the State of SC and serves in multiple capacities within The Institute and her local chapter, SCAGPO.  An NIGP Online Instructor, Stacy enjoys sharing her experiences with procurement professionals as opportunities become available.

    Sharon Rothwell, Former US Army Quartermaster Officer, worked procurement for both the government contractor and public agency.  Over 22 years of public procurement experience.
    Michael Thornton has been the Purchasing Manager for the City of Leesburg, FL for the past 12 years.  Mike is a regular contributor to Nsite discussion and presented at last years Forum in Salt Lake City.
    Anna Vogel has been in public procurement for nearly 20 years, serving the City of Vancouver for almost 15 years and a transportation benefit for the last 5.  Anna has served on the education committee for the Washington State Chapter of NIGP and is now a member of the Chapter Board.  This is Anna's first time participating in a global best practice 
    Jo Marie Brown has been in private and public procurement for 18 years. Jo Marie is a Procurement Manager for the State of South Carolina and has served on several committees within NIGP, SCAGPO and NASPO.

    Attendance for Individuals

    In order to receive one contact hour, each member needs to register for the webinar individually in advance and then watch the live webinar. Your credit is tabulated by match between your login and your registration.

    Attendance for Groups

    There is a Group Sign-In Form provided with each webinar. The group sign-in form does not register anyone for the webinar, it just verifies live attendance. Each person will receive their login email on the day of the webinar – this verifies their registration. The group sign in form verifies that they watched the live webinar.
