    Overview

    Just like in the 1990’s movie Groundhog Day starring Bill Murray, we all get stuck in a cycle of repeat. When it comes to work, we can easily get into a pattern or a routine of familiarity and find ourselves doing the same things the same way for years, maybe even decades. Sometimes it's hard to notice because we have just adapted. Though this may be a comfortable place to pause for a while, we shouldn’t stay there for long. Striving for excellence is a key component of professionalism. It means that we put quality into everything we do. Striving for excellence in procurement means that we are always on the look-out for new and innovative ways to do what we do. Our motto should be “change is good” and research indicates that any type of change can spur productivity.
     

    Objectives

     After completing this online training session, learners will be able to:
     
    1. Apply new techniques for motivating your team to strive for excellence.
     
    2. Learn strategies for becoming a better leader, regardless of your position or title.
     

    Presenter Bio

    Theresa has over 25 years of experience in procurement.  Over her career, she has served in various capacities within the procurement profession in the private sector in the retail, sporting goods, aerospace, and chemical industries and has over 15 years in public sector procurement. She is the Procurement Official for Manatee County with leadership responsibilities over the procurement of all goods, services, capital improvement and construction.
     
    Theresa holds CPPO, CPPB, CPSM and C.P.M. certifications. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Business Management. Theresa serves as Acting President of the Florida Association of Public Procurement Officials, is a current member of NIGP at both the national and chapter levels, is a member of the NIGP Talent Council, the Talent Council liaison to the Pipeline and Placement Committee, and on the NIGP Global Best Practice Task Force for Market Research.
     

    Attendance for Individuals

    In order to receive one contact hour, each member needs to register for the webinar individually in advance and then watch the live webinar. Your credit is tabulated by match between your login and your registration.

    Attendance for Groups

    There is a Group Sign-In Form provided with each webinar. The group sign-in form does not register anyone for the webinar, it just verifies live attendance. Each person will receive their login email on the day of the webinar – this verifies their registration. The group sign in form verifies that they watched the live webinar.
