    Overview

    Requirements of and impact on procurement professionals regarding GASB 87 which becomes effective on 1/01/2020.
     

    Objectives

     After completing this online training session, learners will be able to:
     
    1.  Understand the basic requirements of the new GASB accounting standards for leases and the related information needs of those who prepare government financial statements
     
    2.  Understand how procurement personnel may be called upon to provide needed information for financial reporting of leases and the impact that may have on procurement processes
     

    Presenter Bios

    Wesley A. Galloway is a senior project manager at the Governmental Accounting Standards Board and is a frequent speaker on governmental accounting. He serves as the GASB liaison to governmental utilities, hospitals, and higher education organizations.Since joining the GASB staff in 1996, Mr. Galloway has worked on numerous GASB Statements and projects.More recent projects include leases, debt extinguishments, equity interests reporting, and public-private partnerships. Mr. Galloway also has conducted research on the effectiveness of GASB standards as a research fellow at the Financial Accounting Foundation, which oversees the GASB. Mr. Galloway is a graduate of Brigham Young University and is a member of the AICPA.

    In order to receive one contact hour, each member needs to register for the webinar individually in advance and then watch the live webinar. Your credit is tabulated by match between your login and your registration.

    There is a Group Sign-In Form provided with each webinar. The group sign-in form does not register anyone for the webinar, it just verifies live attendance. Each person will receive their login email on the day of the webinar – this verifies their registration. The group sign in form verifies that they watched the live webinar.
