    Overview

    This online training session will examine the role of procurement professionals in managing spend by providing the steps and best practices for decision makers. This is an interactive presentation that surveys what directors, managers, and specialists should be doing to incorporate spend programs into their larger procurement strategy. Participants will leave the course with the tools needed to ensure that their procurement function and spend management functions are forward thinking, strategic, effective and efficient. This online training session is targeted toward all experience levels, but especially for those involved in the decision-making process.
     

    Objectives

    After completing this online training session, learners will be able to:
    1. List the four elements that create the framework for a spend analysis program
    2. Identify the steps involved in conducting a spend analysis
    3. Apply spend analysis tools and resources to the procurement function
    4. Discuss techniques for developing a spend program
     

    Presenter Bio

    Teresa has worked at all three levels of government (local, state, and federal); her experiences bring a multifaceted view of governmental issues and solutions. Her key government areas of focus are Procurement, Finance, and HR. She is an experienced procurement professional having worked in procurement at both the city and federal levels. She worked at the City of Memphis in Purchasing where she served as a Contract Analyst and Data Metrics Specialist as well as a Legislative Committee member of the Tennessee Association of Purchasing Professionals. She is currently a Contract Specialist for the federal government. Her procurement areas of interest and focus are Data Management, Spend Management, and Spend Analysis and Analytics. She received her MBA from the University of Memphis' Fogelman School of Business and Economics and BA from Rhodes College.
