This session will help you get answers to the questions that will get you noticed by procurement’s executive producers. What skills do you need to hone in order to become successful in your role, in your agency and in the profession? What are your leaders looking for? How do you get engaged in the profession and make a difference?
     
    This session will focus on:
    - Identifying the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities critical to public procurement and how to develop them
    - Learning from industry research on what leaders want from employees;
    - Pursuing and successfully achieving professional Certification as a public procurement professional
    - Sharing opportunities in the industry to become involved and make a difference in your chosen profession.
     
    This interactive session will including sharing information, opportunity and creating a group dialogue about what it means to be in public procurement and how you can become the next Procurement Rising Star!
     

    Objectives

     After completing this online training session, learners will be able to:
     
    1. Identifying the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities critical to public procurement and how to develop them
     
    2.  Compare industry research on what leaders want from employees to their own current levels of skills and abilities

    Presenter Bios

    Marcheta E. Gillespie, CPPO, CPPB, C.P.M., CPM, is a dynamic speaker/trainer and experienced leader in the procurement profession. As the retired Director of the City of Tucson's Department of Procurement, Marcheta has over 26 years of experience in one of the country’s largest, most highly acclaimed procurement organizations.She now shares her extensive experience and expertise with public and private industry through her business, MG Procurement Consulting, LLC.Marcheta is a passionate advocate for the procurement profession.Her areas of expertise include organizational leadership, strategic planning, public sector contracting, project management, program development, contract administration and cooperative procurement.
     
    Marcheta was the recipient of the 2017 Distinguished Service Award, the 2nd highest award given by NIGP – The Institute for Public Procurement for her extensive contributions to the public procurement profession.Marcheta has served as Chair of the UPPCC Governing Board, was the 2013-2014 President of NIGP and served on the NIGP Board of Directors for 10 years.She was the first Chair of the NIGP Talent Council and Chair of the NIGP 2.0 Task Force, a historic project of governance model transformation.Marcheta chaired the NIGP Task Force for the Values & Guiding Principles Initiative and numerous NIGP committees over the past 26 years.

    In order to receive one contact hour, each member needs to register for the webinar individually in advance and then watch the live webinar. Your credit is tabulated by match between your login and your registration.

    Attendance for Groups

    There is a Group Sign-In Form provided with each webinar. The group sign-in form does not register anyone for the webinar, it just verifies live attendance. Each person will receive their login email on the day of the webinar – this verifies their registration. The group sign in form verifies that they watched the live webinar.
