    This online training session will take the learner through the basics one needs to understand as far as cybersecurity for procurement professionals. The agenda will be as follows:

    - Understanding cyber security, its challenges, and solutions
    - Threat actors, including nation state, criminal, etc.
    - Endpoint security vs. network security vs. Software as a Service (SAAS)
    - Information Technology (IT) security architecture and operations
    - Marketplace solutions
    - Threat intelligence
    - Authentication
    - Database and application security
    - Emerging categories such as decoy, darknet, etc.
    - Procurement advice
     
    This online training session is targeted to anyone interested in learning more about cybersecurity.
     

    Objectives

    After completing this online training session, learners will be able to:
    1. List the various types of cyber security solutions and explain what each type would protect
    2. Apply the information to procurement of cyber security products
     

    Presenter Bio

    Michael Cadle is a graduate of West Point and served as a Signal Corps Officer in Germany prior to setting off on a 30 year career in the high tech arena. Michael resides in Northern Virginia and has spent the last 20 years specializing in network security start-up companies operating in a sales and executive capacity. In this capacity, Michael has an impressive track record of contributing to the acquisition of 6 of these start-ups. He has worked with every branch of the armed services, and with most every US Government Civilian Agency, and the Intelligence community. He is very familiar with US Government contracting and the procurement process. He has also sold security solutions in the commercial arena world-wide, selling direct into the Fortune 500 as well as partnering with many of Silicon Valley’s most respected security companies.
